Cincinnati - USA

For more than 200 years Cincinnati has been growing along the banks of the Ohio River and the neighbouring hills of Kentucky. Lots of its traditions can  be traced back to the large number of German immigrants who settled there. Downtown Cincinnati offers lots of places for shopping and entertainment.

You'll find friendly people and quiet places along the banks of the Ohio River. As a sports fan you can watch major league sports at the River Front Stadium.

Some of the many attractions of Cincinnati are the Cincinnati Zoo and the Union Terminal with its museums:

Another highlight for the German students during their stay in the USA is a visit to Washington D.C., the US-capital.

Welcome to Donaueschingen

Donaueschingen - the Black Forest - the source of the Danube River - the Princeley Palace of the Fuerstenbergs - you may have heard of it.

Donaueschingen is situated in the south of Germany at the source of the longest European river - the Danube - between the Black Forest and Lake Constance. With its 20,000 inhabitants and a history that goes back over 1,000 years this lively town is a popular place for lots of tourists. They don't only look at the sights but they also come to watch the annual international equestrian elite: jumpers, dressage riders and the magnificent four-horse carriages.

Some also come to listen to experience the sounds of contemporary tonal art at the annual music festival in October, the so-called "Musiktage". Premières of contemporary tonal art are broadcasted in 30 countries around the world.

There are lots of opportunities for the people who live in Donaueschingen to be active in sports, music clubs etc. Lots of attractions in and around the town make Donaueschingen a place worth being visited.

From the point of view of the American students everything may seem to be more tiny and clear here with us in Donaueschingen and its surrounding areas. During their stay in Donaueschingen, American students go shopping in Freiburg, go on trips to Lake Constance, see the Danube valley and Sigmaringen or visit old castles nearby. A very special highlight for them is a stay in Titisee-Neustadt in the Black Forest where they get to know the countryside.
